Shopping area URMAS – a former warehouse type commercial base has become a modern and unique shopping town. It is a trading complex with its own traditions, original markets and events.
Urmas has over 3000 free parking spaces.
If you are driving, there are six entrances from Pramonė Avenue, Taika Avenue, Garažai and Elektrėnai streets. One landmark that you will not miss is a ten-story business centre “1000”, which was built in 2009. Its façade depicts a pre-war one thousand litas note. This building received “the largest stained glass in Lithuania” award from Lithuanian records agency “Factum”, being 88 metres wide and 31 metres high.
Urmas trading complex
Shopping area URMAS has a number of different buildings, each with its own identity and name. They are recognised easily, since most names correspond with their façade colours – Yellow gallery, Grey gallery, White gallery, Red passage, Western gallery and Eastern gallery.
The total area of the shopping area URMAS is almost 18 hectars, indoor space – 90 thousand square meters. Over 2500 traders run their businesses in Urmas.
Here you will also find the largest indoor food market in Lithuania “Kaunas Central market”. It is well known for its wide selection of fresh food products.
